George an inkeeper of Danbury being sued for £6 ..2s.. 1d for non-payment of goods sold and delived by a wine merchant Thomas Hayes & Son Wines and Spirits Merchants of Maldon. A policeman in 1885 earned 21s a week so this would equal approx £3000.
