1861
Census George Musgrove living with Cole Family
This
is a copy of the 1861 census which shows George Musgrove living with
his aunt and uncle Henry and Jessie Cole at 36 Charlotte Street in Marylebone
London.
He is 18 years old and a railway
porter. He probably got his job through his uncle Henry who was
a railway clerk. Also shown in the census
in the same household is a visitor named Stephen Richardson. Interestingly
he is only 18 months old and he appears again with the Cole family
ten years later on the 1871 census.
The map below dates from around 1800 and shows the distances between
36 Charlotte Street, and the Aitchison houehold at 5 Princes Street
( shown on map as Hertford Street).
